Associated Construction
Engineering, Inc. (ACE)
Associated Construction Engineering, Inc. (ACE)
is a multi-disciplined, full service consulting
engineering firm. It offers services in
mechanical, electrical and fire protection
building system design for new construction,
remodel projects, and facility expansions.
Established in 1987, ACE has grown from a four
person staff to a team of more than twenty
design professionals in three offices located in
Billings, Belgrade and Missoula.
Two office expansions, one in Belgrade and the
other in Billings, were made possible through
the use of the SBA 504 loan program. In 1997,
after having rented space at the Gallatin Field
Airport, they were able to purchase a historic
building in downtown Belgrade and renovate it to
suit their needs for their main office. In 2004,
their Billings office staff had outgrown their
leased facility and made the decision to
purchase land and construct a new building. This
new building is a showcase of what they do as
mechanical and electrical engineers using the
finest quality fixtures and state of the art
technology.
According to ACE’s founder and president, Tim
Coleman, “The SBA 504 loan program was
instrumental in allowing for both expansions by
providing affordable financing terms with a low
initial investment of 10% and fixed payments for
20 years.”
Thanks to US Bank (formerly First Bank Bozeman)
and First Security Bank – Bozeman for partnering
with Montana Community Finance Corporation in
order to make the financing possible for these
two projects.
Way to go ACE on your continued growth!
Lender Comments for the Featured Project
"Do you have business customers who want to buy
an existing building or construct a new one? We
all do. The SBA 504 loan program allowed me to
help CCTW construct a new building to house
Associated Construction Engineering (ACE) of
Billings."
"I submitted the loan request to MCFC in Helena
and received a quick MCFC and SBA 504 loan approval. I
put together a straight line of credit
construction loan at 90% of appraisal value.
When construction was complete, and the SBA 504
loan was closed, we received a 40% pay down on
our loan from MCFC. This resulted in a 10%
borrower down payment; 40% SBA 504 loan and a
50% bank loan."
"The SBA 504 loan program was selected because
the borrower wanted a lower down payment and as
much of their total loan at a fixed interest
rate as possible. The benefit to the bank was a
first lien position and a 50% LTV. The SBA 504
loan program, allows more businesses the
opportunity to own their building. The staff at MCFC are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
They walk you through the process."
